Barabanki Distt. Co-Operative Bank Ltd.,is established in 1918 under Co-Operative Act which was first created in 1904 and then passed again in 1912 as Co-Operative Act led to form Central Co-Operative Banks. In 1965 the new U.P.Co-operative Societies Act was passed after which the bank progressed continually.
In 1918 Great personality Honourable Mr. .................. reputed layer and eminent person of our district by sense of Co-Operativeness and with the help of many formers and people collected an amount of this bank. Foundation stone of the present Head Office building situated at Barabanki (Faizabad Road) was laid.
Honourable Mr.Dhirendra Kumar Verma (Deputy Chairman UPCB) an eminent person & great co-operator took the charge of the bank as a director in 1965 and as a chairman in 1967 not only that he also became one and only Non-Official Director of R.B.I. and the progress of the bank was started in true sense. The commitment of the Board and some drastic decision in banking changed the bank totally in more positive result.
Bank has completed 98 years of banking services with pride. Bank used to provide prompt and cordial services to its numerous customers all the time since inception, in 2012 the Reserve Bank of India confirmed it by granting license to the bank for doing business in banking sector. At present the total deposit amount is reached around Rs........crores and total loan amount disbursed reached up to Rs.......... crores.The bank has set-up of 22 branches and 3 Extension Counter situated are in district Barabanki. All the branches and head office of the bank is totally computerized and CBS and equipped with all modern banking facility as a first step towards modern banking. Today bank provides RTGS/NEFT, SMS Alerts Facility to its customers and to provide ATM cum Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking, RuPay KCC etc. in progress.
